Why didn't the Creator clearly write that we should live after the lunar Sabbath? Isn't the Shabbat too important for the Creator to let his people (including the Jews) celebrate on the wrong day for thousands of years?
He did clearly write it. In original hebrew. Then he warned us that bad influences would seek to change his ways, to include his sabbath days (Daniel 7:25).
When you translate languages, original meaning is lost.
When you distort context and definitions, meaning is lost.
Hebrew is a concrete language. Today western society uses greek abstract thought/language. This plays a huge role in CHANGES to G-ds words and meaning/understanding. Today, we read from a corrupted english text. That has successfully hidden G-ds ways.
What we do know:
G-d COMMANDED that his 7th day sabbath be a "moedim" (Leviticus 23:1-4, Jubilees 50:9, 50:13).
G-d COMMANDED that all "moedim" be appointed by the moon (Psalm 104:19, Ecclesiasticus 43:6-8).
G-d COMMANDED that the new moon days be SET APART from the 6 work days, and from the 7th day sabbath (Ezekiel 46).
These verses alone definitevly disprove a planetary weekly system and fully established that the moon marks G-ds holy days, to include the 7th day sabbath, based on the measured light the moon receives from the sun.
But the word "moedim" doesnt even appear in the english text of the bible. Which is why readers cannot male these connections.
Thank you for the clarifications. In Ps 104:19 we read that the moon indicates moedim. But, say the proponents of a solar calendar, it does not mean that all moedim are indicated by the moon. For example, the sacrificial seasons are also referred to as moedim (see Num 28:2). And these are dependent on the sun.
not true.
So then if the daily sacrifice is also called "moed", that is, to a certain time, considered; then I would say this moed will also refer to the moon, because somewhere I read, but can no longer find it, that the moon defines the days, since it changes its shape daily, but not the sun. And then the statement is really not true, cos all moedim in the scripture are in connection with the moon.
So YHVH appointed the moon for the seasons or for the moed(im). And when it comes to yearly or monthly appointments like Passover, Pentecost, Tabernacles or even the new moon people have no problem believing Psalm 104:19 yet when it comes to the weekly apointment they aren`t so quick to accept that the moon has something to do with determining when the weekly sabbath is, although this particular word for moedim refers to the weekly Sabbath and all the Levitical Holy Days.
correct. Despite Leviticus 23:1-4 clearly listing the weekly 7th day sabbath as one of the 8 moedim.
The book of Jubilees 50:9 and 50:13 also state that the sabbath is a moedim.
For the Lunar Sabbath keeper, the feast days of unleavened bread and the Feast of Tabernacles are always on weekly Shabbats.
But: “Shabbat” means translated “day of rest”.
Why in Leviticus 23 did the festivals that take place on the 15th and 22nd have to be specially noted that they are a Shabbat/day of rest if they celebrate on a Shabbat anyway?
All 7th day sabbaths are rest days (shabbat days), but not all rest days (shabbat days) are 7th day sabbaths.
Similar to how all thumbs are fingers, but not all fingers are thumbs.
The day of atonement is NOT a 7th day sabbath, but it is a shabbat, meaning, rest day.
It is not "the first day of the week".
The word "first" in hebrew is "rosh".
Genesis 1:3 does not use the word first or rosh.
When we look at the concordance at this verse, the hebrew word "echad" is used. Translated as "one" into english. "Day one".
This is important to distinguish, because ancient cultures did not have the number zero. When you study ancient hebrew numbering, "first" (rosh) was their zero place holder.
First is an ORDINAL number. Ordinal numbers are used for ordering.
One is a CARDINAL number. Cardinal numbers are used for GROUPING, after the ordinal ordering has been established.
All throughout scripture, first and one are TWO DIFFERENT numbers.
In the english language of concept, first and one are considered synonomous. The same as. But this was not the case in ancient hebrew.
New moon day is always described as "head, first, chief" day. All 3 of these words are the same hebrew word "rosh", which means first. Ordinal.
The phrase "in the beginning" is only one hebrew word. Barashit.
Barashit actually contains the hebrew word rosh as its root. Meaning first. Barashit, or "in the beginning" was the FIRST day.
Genesis 1:2 says "it became darkness", or nighttime.
Genesis 1:3 says that G-d commanded the light to be. Or the light to return. He then called it "day one", or yom echad in hebrew.
Genesis 1:1 = first, ordinal, light/day
Genesis 1:2 = darkness/night
Genesis 1:3 = one, cardinal light/day
Later in Genesis, G-d describes 4 rivers. He doesnt call them river one, two, three and four.
He calls then "first, one, two three".
This is scripture proving that first and one are NOT the same.
Our modern day western understanding is not compatible with ancient hebrew.
We count 0, 1, 2, 3.
They counted first, one, two, three.. .
When we understand this, we would then know conclusively that day one in Genesis 1:3, had a day that preceeded it. Called new moon day, the first day.
The prophet Isaiah stated that G-d did not create from a position of darkness in the beginning. Those words "in the beginning" in our english translation is the hebrew word "barashit" in the hebrew concordance. Barashit (in the beginning) took place in Genesis 1:1.
Isaiah is telling us point blank, that in Genesis 1:1, G-d did NOT create the heavens and the earth while in darkness. G-d is light. He created, during Genesis 1:1, from a position of light.
Job 38 confirms this, when G-d tells Job, where were you when a layed the earths foundation (which took place in Genesis 1:1), when the MORNING stars sang praises.
That word morning in the concordance, means "day".
Genesis 1:5 states that day must be during LIGHT.
Job 38 supports Isaiah, that Genesis 1:1 was during a period of LIGHT, not darkness.
And as Genesis 1:5 states, all periods of light are defined as "day". Priving that Genesis 1:1 was a SEPERATE day from Genesis 1:3.
And Genesis 1:1 was the "first day", while Genesis 1:3 was called "day one".
And what was Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:3 seperated by? The darkness of Genesis 1:2.
Wether people realize it or not, this is definitive proof of a lunar sabbath. Because the day G-d rested would have been the 8th day of the month, but the 7th day of the week. Genesis 1:1 was new moon day, the first day of the month. And then G-d counted 7 week days towards his sabbath. This is EXACTLY why scripture often refers to the sabbath day as "the eight day". Because it's literally always the 8th day of the month.
This is why Ezekiel 46 commands us to SEPERATE the new moon days from the 6 work days. Just as we SEPERATE the 6 work days from the 7th day sabbath.
The pattern of Genesis chapter 1 is revealing this. That G-d had a new moon day in Genesis 1:1, then night/darkness in Genesis 1:2. Then the light returned in Genesis 1:3 for day one of the work week.
Yes, what I have noted about this is, that Rosh Hashanah is a time of rejoicing before G-d, for it represents a time of joyful worship when our Creator made heaven and earth and this hardly takes place in night/darkness but in day/light
O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto G-d with the voice of triumph Ps.47:1
Make a joyful noise unto G-d, all ye lands: Ps.66:1
Sing aloud unto G-d our strength: make a joyful noise unto the G-d of Jacob. Ps.81:1
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Ps.100:1
The day in which the moon becomes new and begins to rebuild, is the beginning or Head of a new lunar cycle. It is a very special day because it has commemorated the first day of the month of Creation.
And according to the Jews creation began with the confinement of infinite light to a central point, the midpoint, Nekuda Emzait, Hebrew נקודה אמצעית, meaning that creation began as a perfect circle. The number π is one of the most fascinating and important constants in mathematics. Jewish research has shown that there is a correlation between the first verse of the Torah and the numbers of π with perfect design and symmetry. There is also an extremely deep and important correlation between π and the jewish concept of creation without going into this in detail now.
This all fits together.
you mentioned "ROSH hashana". And the HEAD of the month.
Both rosh and head are the same hebrew word, meaning "first", per the hebrew concordance.
Rosh hashana is the FIRST day of the month. A day different than Genesis 1:3 that is labeled "day ONE (echad)" of the week.
I know that you get what I am saying, I just like to keep harping on the fact that scripture continually labels the first day of the month and day one of the week, as DIFFERENT numbers as per their ordering. The english translation and english language hides this fact from our understanding.
yes, i understand, the distinction of the numbers is decisive for the proof of the lunar sabbath and should be mentioned here. another biblical proof that finally convinced me personally of the truth of the sabbath anchored in the new moon after months of uncertainty is found in Exodus 13:6.
Almost everyone reads this verse with the Gregorian calendar in mind and comes to the wrong conclusion.
Yet all four verses Ex.13:6; Lev.23:6; Num.28:17; Ps.81:3. are in complete harmony with the biblical calendar of creation. In addition, there are extra-biblical witnesses such as Philo who says that the 15th day of the month is at the end of the 2nd week at the time of the full moon and he calls the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread the day 7/week. He says the same of the first day of the seven-day Feast of Tabernacles.
It could not be clearer for me
The whole point, in my opinion, is that truth obliges. However, living by it is an enormous practical challenge for many Lunar Sabbath keepers, since the biblical calendar is diametrically opposed to the Gregorian calendar in terms of days of work and days of rest. On the other hand, the Scriptures do not say exactly when the new moon day is. As a result, there are multiple views of it with different calendars.
psalm 81:3 in the hebrew text tells us when the new moon day is. So does the book of Enoch, which was true scripture until man removed it. Psalm 81:3 says the new moon is the "kese" new moon. Kese means "full or fully". But keses root word, is Kasa. Root words define the meaning and context of the word. Kasa literally means "covered, conceiled, hidden, veiled". So the kese new moon is the "fully covered" new moon. Aka the conjunction moon.
But how do you observe a conjunction? Actually, you would call it: no moon. I still have to study that and I haven't read the book of Enoch yet.
new moon day is the "first" day correct?
The hebrew word being rosh. Look up rosh in the hebrew concordance. It literally gives the example that rosh is the 0° of a circle
The moons month is a circle. What is the 0° point of the moons cycle? It's not the visible sliver, which according to astronomy is the 7° mark. The 0° mark of the moons cycle is when it is due east, directly aligned with the sun. Conjunction. We celebrate and achknowledge this day of the moon.
Benaiah something I just realized. Ezekiel 28:12-15 states. . . Lucifer was the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.. .every precious stone was his COVERING. . .he was the anointed cherub that COVERS.. ..he was perfect in his ways from the DAY he was created. Multiple things to discuss. Ezekiel is speaking of Lucifer when he was perfect , before he sinned/rebelled. Ezekiel says this was a "day" in creation. We know the fall happened in Genesis 1:2. And Genesis 1:2 was darkness/night. So Lucifer existed in a day BEFORE this. Jubilees chapter 2:2 states that the angels/spirits were created on the FIRST day. I explained that new moon day is conjunction, when the moons light is COVERED. Ezekiel says twice that Lucifers job was to be the COVERING cherub over the mercy seat of G-d. He was supposed to cover something, but chose to leave his abode. Ezekiel 28 then says that Lucifer BECAME filled with violence. Genesis 1:2 uses the hebrew word that means violence and destruction. It even uses a word that came mean lightning. Jesus/Yeshua said in Luke 10 that he saw Satan fall from heaven like LIGHTNING. Exactly what is described in the hebrew text of Genesis 1:2. This all supports a DAY taking place BEFORE Genesis 1:3 (day one). And Ezekiel hints that Lucifer was supposed to be covering, but eventually chose not to. New moon day is the day of covering. As kese in Psalm 81:3, when describing the new moon, means "fully covered". The scriptural evidence is there, if you know how to connect the dots.
Were told Lucifer was beautiful. But he was supposed to be covering the mercy seat. He chose to abandoned his post, to be seen instead. His pride caused him to want his own beauty to be seen.
Today, through Babylonian influence and tradition, they have declared the first visible cresent the new moon. A moon that demands to be seen and recognized. Instead of being covered, like psalm 81:3 commands it to be. Reminds me of Lucifer's fall. Instead of covering, he wanted to be seen by tue earth, as ruler of earth. Today, jews honor the seen moon, not the covered one. Exact same concept. I'm sure satan influenced this.
The cresent moon is only mentioned twice in all of scripture. Both times by the prophet Isaiah. And both times, Isaiah states that it is a wicked Babylonian tradition. Satan ruled babylon.
These are all interesting conclusions. However, I need some time to be able to check all this
People claim the sabbath wasnt given until G-d spoke the 10 commandments on Mt Sinai in tje middle of the 3rd month, during the Exodus.
This is clearly inaccurate when you consider that in month 2 of the Exodus, as stated in Exodus chapter 16, G-d was punishing many of the Israelites for "disobeying" his sabbath day. And these Israelites were said to be in rebellion towards keeping the sabbath. So they KNEW they were in error towards the sabbath and did it anyways. Which means, BEFORE G-d even spoke the 10 commandments to them, they KNEW they were to keep his sabbath and could be justifiably punished if they didnt.
And I want people to understand, ancient hebrew was a CONCRETE language. Ancient Greek was an ABSTRACT language.
When you know the durastic difference between these two writing/thought processes, you can then understand how badly translating a concrete hebrew word to an abstract greek word, distorted G-ds meaning of words to us.
It's literally demonic how badly it changed things. Jeff Benner has amazing videos on you tube on this subject and how detrimental to s cripture understanding this change was. Please research the videos on this topic by Jeff. They are short and a great blessing.
Sure, I will research it. Thank you for sharing your insights with me, I have already gained a lot of new insights through these conversations with you. Incidentally, I asked Oren Evron, an author and mathematician who researched the correlation between pi and Genesis, in a brief summary of what you have written on the subject of counting in Old Hebrew. Here is his answer or question, whatever of course it's your choice to answer them:
Thank you for this email,
Indeed there's a lot of truth in that email you got.
Can the person who sent it to you refer to a complete comprehensive text detailing it?
Thank you,
